My husband is not a pàstór but a riitúàliist – Episode 10
“My Pastor’s wife scrééàmed, ‘B|óóód of Jéésús!’ and ran to check on Mercy. I fréàkéd out, as I was just a thin line away from being éxpóséd.”
“I needed to come up with a legit reason immediately and explain why Mercy was b|ééédííñg. I knew for sure that the next scenario would be my Pastor asking me, ‘What happened?'”
“After many thoughts, I decided I was going to lííe that Mercy was on her pérííód and had been b|éédííñg excéssívely for the past few months, once it came to greet her.”
“As I was still trying to put this lííe together, my Pastor said, ‘Peter, is there something you’re not telling me? When did it get to this point? I don’t understand. What kind of íllñéss is this? In fact, what did the dóçtór say on Sunday when I asked you to take them for tréàtméñt?'”
“‘That reminds me, where are the drúúgs the dóçtór gave you? Are you sure you’ve been following the prescríptíón? You didn’t even get back to me. When did it become this séríóús? How come you didn’t even inform me after going to see the dóçtór?'”
“‘Peter, it’s the líífe of your three siblings we are talking about here. This isn’t a drama or some jóké. Why would you keep me in the dààrk about something as serííóús as this?'”
“‘Gód f0rbííd, but if any of your siblings should dííé, what do you think the çhúrçh would say, especially if they got to know I was absent the whole time during their íllñéss, which would be because you delíberately chose not to inform me for some reasons I seldom can fathom.'”
“‘Peter, Peter, what is wróóñg with you? Did I 0fféñd you? Why do you always choose to keep me away from your family’s períls? Why then am I your Pàstór if you’re going through hé|| and I do absolutely nothing about it?'”
“‘Why are you doing this? Is there really something you’re not telling me? Talk to me, Peter. I am your Pàstór, and it’s wróóñg if you’re súfférííñg in silence and not informing me. What are you hídíng from me?'”
“I stood still like a dry and frozen stick as my Pàstór kept talking and talking and talking. I didn’t even know when I started cryííñg.”
“I tried so hàrd to fííght the téàrs so that he doesn’t think I was hídíng something for real, but the more I tried, the more I críéd.”
“His words suddenly began to pííérce my heart like shàrp àrr0ws. Every ‘why’ he threw at me left a paííñful cúút on my heart.”
“His words became so héàvy, téàrííñg my ears apart, fórcííñg them into my heart.”
“He almost persuaded me, he almost melted my gréééd, he almost ruííned my plans, but like a bú||d0g, I clung my tééth fírmly onto the néçk of my desires and was never ready to let go.”
“He made me feel very emótíónal, awakening the n0stalgic ties I shared with my fàmíly, b|00d calling unto b|00d, but like a só|díér, I fóúght those féélííñgs, cóñqúéréd them, and refúsed to yield.”
“I bent down, picked up my courage, looked at him, and said, ‘Sir, I’m sórry, but I’m not hiding anything from you.'”
“‘When I took them to see the dóçtór that Sunday, he said nothing was wr0ng with them, that their systems were okay, only that they were wéàk and needed to feed more on proteins and perhaps rest for some days, and they’ll be fine.'”
“‘The b|00d on the mattress has absolutely nothing to do with their héàlth. That b|00d came from Mercy, and that has been her reaction lately once her monthly visitor comes knocking on the door.'”
“‘If you don’t belíeve me, you can ask Ruth and Jacob when they get back. For the past few months, once it was her períód, Mercy always b|éd. I’m not lyííng; you can ask their siblings when return.'”
“‘Aside from this b|00d, they’re very okay and getting better. Since the dóçtór said that what they needed was good food and fruits, I’ve been using the móñéy you gave me to get them good food and fruits on a daily basis.'”
“‘In fact, this was why I sent Ruth and Jacob on an errand to go to the market and buy a few things for the sake of their sííçk siblings. You can ask them when they return. I’m not hídíng anything from you, sir, and I can never do that.'”
“I lííéd to my Pastor, and looking at his facíal expressíon, I could already tell that he belíeved every single thing I said.”
“Just while I was yet to fully express the joy within me that I was able to convince him, I heard someone knocking at the door, and I was sure it was Ruth and Jacob.”
“I then remembered bóàstííng to my Pàstór that if he didn’t belíeve me, he could ask Ruth and Jacob. I was àgíítated because I said that thinking they wouldn’t return until my Pàstór was gone.”
“In order not to score an own-goal, I excused myself to go open the door for them, hoping to seríí0úsly thrééà+én them not to say more than I was going to instruct them to my Pàstór, if perhaps he threw the bíg question at them.”
