My husband is not a pàstór but a riitúàliist – Episode 7
“Before entering a public bus, I always checked to ensure that the people inside were not kiidnaappers or thiieves. I never boarded a bus if there were too few passengers inside.”
“I always confirmed that at least five passengers were seated at the back, three in the middle, and one or two in the front seat. A half-filled or perhaps jam-packed bus was considered safe and sound for me.”
“Due to my carefulness and thoughtfulness in following the instructions the hérbàliist gave me, I was lóst in thoughts, and I forgot to inspect the public bus I boarded as I left the hérbàliist and wanted to go home.”
“There were just two passengers in the back seat, one passenger in the middle, and one passenger in the front seat.”
“Tíred and exhàústed, I entered the public bus and sat in the middle as I tried to rehearse everything the hérbàliist had said, paying attention to each detail.”
“I was very careful this time so that I wouldn’t repeat the same místàke I made previously when I was first told to mix the liquid póíísóñ with water and give it to Peace to drink, making sure I discarded the remnant.”
“That was an opportunity for me to correct my místàke and clean up the méss I made; hence, I kept my eyes peeled.”
“We didn’t drive for more than 10 minutes when I heard a very thíck and féàrfúll voice from the back seat.”
“‘Héy! Take this bag, émpty everything you have inside, and gét óút of this bus.'”
“I frózé immediately, and my heart started beatiing and racíng fastér than the bus.”
“That was when I realízed that I had forgotten to check the number of passeñgers on the bus before júmping inside.”
“That was actually the 2nd time I had made such a terriible místàke, and I never knew if I could get out of that one aliive.”
“The first time I fell víctím to that was on my first day at work. My dad had already secured a five-year service deal with one of the most popular brick-laying factories in town for me.”
“It was a Monday morning, and I boarded a bus while holding my new shovel, which every new apprentice must submit to the boss as a token of appreciation for joining his league of boys to be taught the dynamics and mysteries of molding the strongest and most durable red blocks used for building houses that would stand the test of time.”
“I sat in the middle because, of course, I loved sitting in the middle to have a wonderful view of the many beautiful houses and cars around while we drove to my destination.”
“That was perhaps one of the happiest moments of my life úntil the cóñseqúénces of ignóràñce caúght up with me.”
“Dróp everythiing you have with you on the seat and gét óút of this bus!” A very heavy and thúñderóús voice echoed from the back seat.
“At that moment, we were moving slowly because there were too many hold-ups in front. The conductor also left the door of the bus open so that he could lúré in more passengers to steeal from them.”
“I didn’t know how I did it, but out of fééar, I ràñ past the conductor at the speed of light and làñded outside on the main road, sustaíníñg a few brúiises on my kñees.”
“The conductor was lúçky; he held the frame of the bus’s door firmly; hence, he didn’t fàll, but he sustaiined an ííñjury on his waist region from the shàrp eñds of my shovel.”
“The rest was a tale of a marathon. I ràñ and néver looked baçk until I got to work.”
“Unfórtúñately, I wasn’t holding a shóvél this time, but a small wooden box that contained the only medícíne that could save the líves of my two siblings.”
“Yes! The door of the bus was still open, like my first experience, but if I dàréd to júmp, I might have succeeded in escàpiing. However, what if, in the process, I slàmmed the box onto the main road and kiilléd the two liizards inside?”
